HMS Victory was launched in 1765 from Chatham Shipyard and she was commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1778. She served the British Navy for 34 years, taking part in the famous 'Battle of Trafalgar' in 1805. In 1812 she was retired from active service and dropped anchor in Portsmouth Harbour.
