Psyllium seed
is a complementary feed for horses grazing on sparse pastures, kept in sand paddocks, or otherwise ingesting sand, soil, or gravel. Psyllium forms gel-like fibres when in contact with liquid, which helps to carry sand, soil, and gravel out of the intestinal tract.
