Thiamine contains 90% pure vitamin B1. Thiamine, or vitamin B1, is a coenzyme – a type of activator required for the metabolism of carbohydrates, among other things.
It is also important for certain muscle and nerve functions, as well as for the body’s energy production. Thiamine is often recommended for the treatment of upward fixation of the patella, as prescribed by a veterinarian.
Supplementation with vitamin B1 is often needed for high-performance horses or horses undergoing a feed change.
Water-soluble vitamin = very low risk of overdose.
