Inspired by a swirl of rich aromas crackling like fire under a deep midnight-blue sky, Dior Perfumer François Demachy envisioned Sauvage Parfum as a tribute to unspoiled wilderness.

“For Sauvage Parfum, I imagined the meeting of bold freshness and smooth oriental richness. I preserved the powerful soul of Sauvage, infusing it with nocturnal accents, animalic allure, and velvety undertones.”
At the heart of Sauvage Parfum is its signature aromatic freshness, now intensified by zesty mandarin notes. Seductive tonka bean, with its leathery bitterness, melts into the creamy warmth of Sri Lankan sandalwood.
This sandalwood is harvested from a plantation in Sri Lanka that has partnered with Dior for over a decade. Thanks to traditional cultivation methods, it yields an exceptionally rich and refined olfactory profile.
Difficult to grow, sandalwood trees require close monitoring in their early stages. Once established, they are released into a fully wild plantation, where nature is left untouched. In this harsh, untamed environment, the trees grow freely—some reaching over 12 meters in height and living up to 100 years. It’s this raw, rare essence that gives Sauvage Parfum its uniquely deep and powerful sandalwood signature.
