The bag has a removable harness with carabiners that can be adjusted to fit around the car seat. Lanyard with carabiner inside the bag for securing the dog. The sides can be folded down and secured in a small strap so that the dog can look out better.

Note: The cord to attach the dog to is only for the dog to stay in the bag. The leash does NOT secure the dog in the event of a car accident. An approved harness and strap must be used here. Never attach the cord to the dog's collar (attached to the harness) when the bag is used in the car, as the dog may suffocate in a car accident.
